A Professional Web Promotion Strategy
Posted on 27. Feb, 2010 by Steve.
I have been a web marketer for the last ten years; there have been many changes to the way people should go about promoting their websites in this time and it can prove to be a bit of nightmare trying to keep in touch with the latest web promotion changes. What worked only three years ago could now result in your site receiving a ban or penalty on the major search engines. Link exchanges, at least on an excessive basis, and buyings links to gain a high ranking are now a thing of the past. So as we move through 2009 what types of web promotion strategy should a webmaster be following?
I am also involved with helping people to discover how to stop stuttering and I also work within the cheap holidays sector.
Just one or two years ago you could gain a high ranking within a search engine like Google by simply buying a link on a page which had a high page rank. It did not even seem to matter if the site that was providing the link had anything to do with the site purchasing the link. We therefore saw online poker websites purchasing text link adverts on media and publishing websites which had a high page rank. A lot of people made a lot of money from selling these text links and a new marketplace formed.
Google, the daddy of all of the search engines, then decided to change the rules and I for one am very happy that they did. They decided that it was no longer ethical to buy or sell backward links. This upset a lot of people, this tends to happen when money is involved, with many accusing Google of acting as God. The reply from Google was short and to the point and went along the lines of; it is our search engine and we therefore decide our own guidelines; if you want to sell text links that is fine but it may result in some form of penalty as this goes against our current. They were basically saying you can do whatever you want with your website and at the same time we can do whatever we want with our search engine. Fair play, I say. I am actually very happy with the new guidelines; it was very hard to compete with webmasters who had deep pockets etc. Now the one-man band can compete with the big corporation; hard work, keeping up to date with the latest guidelines as well as learning from the SEO experts will once again prove to be very beneficial.
2009 brings about a new watch word in the world of web promotion; relevancy. What does this mean? Well quite simply the backward links that you attempt to obtain now need to be relevant to the site that you run for them to have a real benefit. Again this surely is common sense. If a website about gardening has a link pointing to a website about camping, is this offering any value to its site visitors? Not really.
2009 is also the year when those who are willing to work hard will finally get their rewards. Some of the old favourites such as article marketing are becoming more popular than ever but quality is now far more important than quantity. Only the best articles will be chosen to be published on other people’s websites and let’s face it they have enough articles to choose from.
Ensuring that your website is optimised correctly with the main keywords placed naturally within the text of the homepage will also be essential, be careful not to “keyword stuff” your homepage though.

Can You Actually Make Money Doing Nothing With Internet Promoting
Posted on 08. Jan, 2010 by Steve.
The short answer is a powerful “NO”! At least not if you are new to marketing on the internet. Not at first. But everyone dreams of being able to make cash doing nothing. And internet marketing may be employed to finally make passive residual income. Residual revenue is income that remains generated after the primary effort has been expended. So, if you work hard and do things right at the start, you may continue to earn off of this effort, even long after you have continued on to other things.
Success in web marketing often comes awfully slowly. You could go on for years without seeing any return, but if you are consistent and continue to work at it, you will continuously start to see the money rolling in. And once this occurs, you will see the snowball effect occur and finally you will be ready to make money doing nothing!
So what do you need to work at? You want to bring traffic to whatever it is that you’re promoting – to your blog or website or to your associate product web site. The more people you can get to your website, the more sales you will make. A good way to start things off is displayed in Google Terminator program.
So what are some of the pros and cons of web marketing?
Firstly, if you prefer to have a regular “guaranteed” paycheck where the amount of time you put in equals the quantity of money you receive, internet marketing is perhaps not for you. If you don’t like to study and learn new things, learning internet marketing is maybe not for you. If you need some other person to galvanize you or manage your activities, web marketing is not for you.
One of the most clear pros of online marketing is that you do not have a chairperson enlightening you what to do. You work for yourself and make all the choices. Having the ability to work where and when you please is a great goal to shoot for.
Your pay isn’t an hourly wage or salary so there is not any limit to how much cash you can make. Let’s say for example that you make a decision to write your own electronic book ( it may sound difficult to you now but this is a particularly attainable goal if you do a little bit of coaching ). You spend a large amount of time on this electronic book and then you make money off of the sales for future years – you just need to make sure that you are pushing visitors to the sales page of your e-book.
This is what passive residual revenue is… And it is one of the best benefits that online marketing offers. Putting out or representing a quality product once or twice a year will have a great impact on your income for the months or years, even if you are not working. Again, that’s’s how it’s possible for you to earn money doing nothing.
